LSC reaffirms our commitment to ensuring membership accountability for DSA elected members by announcing our support for the resolution “Stop the Spoilers: For the Expulsion of Spoiler Candidates.” Candidates that choose to remain in a race against the chapter endorsement are using undue influence to directly undermine the will of DSA’s membership. This is, plain and simple, wrecking behavior. Individualist aspirations towards office should not trump the decisions made by the chapter. In line with Point 3 of our Points of Unity, we believe that expulsion is warranted for the spoiler candidate.

We encourage all DSA members to sign on to support the resolution. Further, we will be bringing this resolution to the National Political Committee so that NPC members will have their votes on record as to whether or not the undemocratic wrecking activities of spoiler candidates will be tolerated in our organization.
